RFID can identify a trailer, container, pallet, cage, cart, or transport item as it enters a yard, leaves a facility, arrives at a depot, or changes custody. The system should define which read points matter and what status changes when the tag is read.

Returnable totes, bins, racks, pallets, dunnage, and containers can move through many facilities and customer handoffs. RFID can help maintain identity and last-event history when the tag, read point, and software record are designed together.

Logistics workflows often fail at transition points: loaded, staged, released, picked up, transferred, received, held, returned, or missing. RFID read points can create a record at those handoffs without depending only on manual notes or visual label scans.
