Complete RFID hardware supports the software workflow

Rocket RFID is software-led, but the software can only trust the data that the hardware captures. Reader, antenna, scanner, printer, tag, sensor, and networking choices should be selected around the event the workflow needs.

Rocket RFID selects, sources, supplies, configures, and supports hardware according to the software workflow and the physical read environment.

Fixed readers may require Ethernet, PoE, Wi-Fi, cellular, industrial enclosures, controller logic, GPIO, sensors, and secure network access. Hardware selection should account for where events happen and how data reaches the software.

Antenna position, polarization, beam pattern, cable length, power level, shielding, and physical layout determine what the system reads and what it should ignore.

Workflow fit

Select hardware by workflow, not catalog category

  1. Inventory or cycle counting may need handheld scanners and tag testing
  2. Dock movement may need fixed readers, antennas, sensors, and filtering logic
  3. Shipment verification may need station readers or handheld scanners plus Rocket Shipped
  4. Asset tracking may need Rocket Tracked, tags, handhelds, portals, or active RFID
  5. Data centers may need handheld scanners, on-metal tags, restricted network planning, and careful reader placement
  6. Label commissioning may need an RFID printer, media, encoding software, and verification
  7. Existing hardware may be integrated only after compatibility is confirmed

Software-led path

Hardware compatibility with Rocket RFID software

RFID hardware should feed a defined business workflow. Rocket Trackedcan use reader events for asset and inventory records, while Rocket Shippedcan use RFID reads for shipment verification when the expected data and exception logic are defined.

Customer-owned hardware may be usable, but every reader, scanner, printer, and integration path should be reviewed before assuming automatic compatibility.
