Important distinction
RFID identifies the item; software manages calibration status
RFID does not determine whether a torque wrench, gauge, fixture, or tool is calibrated, inspected, or safe to use. RFID identifies the item so software can retrieve the record associated with it.
The software record can include calibration status, inspection history, due date, maintenance records, use restrictions, or exception states. The physical read and the business rule need to be designed together. Aerospace manufacturing has related but distinct WIP, tooling, and production-asset workflows onRFID for aerospace manufacturing. General factory WIP and production movement belongs onRFID in manufacturing.
