V-Tag component

V-Tag Gateway

The V-Tag Gateway connects active RFID tag messages to the network and software path so location and status events can reach Rocket Tracked where configured.

Component role

The gateway connects V-Tag infrastructure to software

The V-Tag Gateway is the communication bridge between V-Tag active RFID infrastructure and the software/network path. It can route location updates and status reports from asset tags and fixed references to backend software where configured.

Gateway placement, count, connectivity, power, network access, support process, and security review should be planned around the facility and the events the system needs to deliver.

Deployment planning

Gateway design depends on the facility

A gateway plan should account for coverage areas, building materials, tag movement, network segmentation, available power, mounting options, maintenance access, and the location-event expectations in Rocket Tracked.

For the full active RFID system, see V-Tag active RFID.
